Have I Got News For You?

Today I was struggling for Gaming ideas, so I decided to whip out my PS2 and LightGun controller for some Time Crisis 2 action. I can certainly say i've lost my touch - nearly - as I only got to Area 2 Stage 3 - the last stage. Playing this game brought back memories of the day I could actually beat this game in around 45 minutes. After this I decided to check out the Playstation Store - as it updates every Thursday - and I stumbled across a demo for Lara Croft and The Guardian of Light. After beating this demo with top score, it made up for my previous failure. This PlaystationNetwork/XboxLive-only game feels like a good addition to the Lara Croft series and I may even buy the full game - basically I won't.

Bad news i'm afraid, I didn't actually watch a film or even any TV today however, I did watch my favourite online show: Inside Gaming. Created and hosted by Machinima's TheDeadPixel, Inside Gaming is a show which tells you about all things Gaming going on that week - basically its my way of keeping in the loop. As I feel guilty about not watching a film today, I shall try and watch one of my blu-rays tomorrow followed by my thoughts in tomorrows blog. :)

Today's Stuff section is better than ever as I made the local newspaper! After myself and my team's effort at the Durham Primary Rowing Regatta, we rowed to win our first race last Saturday. My friend, RobinJamesK wrote an article and sent it to my local newspaper: The News Guardian, along with a picture, which made the back sports cover.

That's it for today, why not go watch Inside Gaming? :)

Life on Mars?

Today I start with Films, although I haven't actually watched a film today but rather a TV programme. If you hadn't already guessed, I watched Life on Mars - Yes, the good British version - , in fact I finished watching series two and therefore Life on Mars altogether. I still don't really understand the overall concept of the programme like Ashes to Ashes, but nevertheless it is one of my favourite TV series due to Gene Hunt's outrageous sense of humour and, of course, the soundtrack. Wednesday is usually Cinema Day - due to the Orange Wednesdays 2 for 1 deal - however my usual 'Cinema Crew' were busy so we gave it a miss this week.

As for the Gaming side of things, well, I didn't really do much. However I did play on the MMORPG RuneScape. I know what some of you are thinking - "Why does he play that rubbish" - well, it's really not that bad. RuneScape used to be a pretty dull, poor designed game. However Post-2008, Jagex have really pulled their socks up. Now, the game has crisp game graphics more than reasonable for a Java-based game, regular updates of interesting content and the majority of pillacks who used to play it have stopped playing or been banned. Well enough with trying to explain myself, today I completed the newest free quest: Gunnar's Ground. It was short but sweet as I obtained a new pair of boots and a healthy serving of crafting experience. Membership has run out now so I will remain a free player until I can be bothered to be a member again.

Well as promised, a better 'Stuff' section is here - bear in mind anything is an improvement on yesterday's - . I finished reading Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone today, I think I attempted to read it when I was around 10 years old but gave up due to my short attention span. The book was a lot more interesting than the film - even though I like the film a lot - as it had a lot more explanations which the film lacked.

Well that shall do for today. If you can, have a listen to Life on Mars? by David Bowie, its worth a listen. :)

A Gamer's Greeting

Incase you hadn't guessed, this blog is about Gaming, Films and anything else I can be bothered to talk about (Stuff). I do a lot of Gaming and film watching in my spare time, you could call it a hobby I guess. The majority of Gaming I do is on my Playstation 3 however I do enjoy PC Gaming. I will try to write daily blogs of what i've got up to Gaming/Film wise that day, so try to keep up. :)

Today I ventured into the world of LittleBigPlanet2, still frustrated by its delayed release of January 2011, I tried to put my mind off it by playing the Beta. I've had the Beta for around a week now and I must say, its very impressive. A vast improvement on the first game (which I loved), Media Molecule; the creators of LittleBigPlanet; couldn't deliver a better game. I still haven't got an understanding of the level creation feature, so instead I go online to admire levels made by much more creative people than me.

Today's Film was Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince. This was the first time i've seen the film and I must say, it was outstanding. It continued off from the previous film (Order of the Phoenix) nicely and didn't miss too much out from the book (which I could remember little from). I'm not really the kind of person who can write half-decent film reviews so i'll leave it at that (hopefully tomorrow's will be better). So now i've seen all the Harry Potter films out, i'm pretty excited for the release of the next film in the series; Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows; due for release in Mid November.

As for the 'Stuff' section, i've not much to say (partially because its late and the Gaming/Film sections were reasonably long), so hopefully tomorrow will bring an interesting 'Stuff' section.

Finally my finishing words, visit 'robinjamesk.blogspot.com' because his blog is awesome.
